Collaboration
Our invited writers will meet each week for the first month, and then bi-weekly when development of a full draft begins. Our Lab Team will begin by offering a variety of prompts to stir the pot. Then writers will begin development of their full length draft. For the full length play development, each writer will be given 45 minutes to present scenes, and then have time to recognize celebrations, and have a round robin critical lens on the work, to better develop a clear structure, and character arcs. Collaboration amongst the group is key to the writing process, and the transformation of their story’s development.
Development Workshop
Each playwright will produce a full draft play, and be given the opportunity to put up a staged development workshop to be performed several nights over a week with minimal sets, lights and staff. The Artistic Director and Managing Director will work with the playwrights to find the best Director and actors from a combined pool of collaborators. Our ETC design team will create a space where the plays can work in tandem with one another.
